To be fair, you have to have a very high IQ to understand Bio-Med's Smash Team. The humour is extremely subtle, and without a solid grasp of Kirby's down special most of the jokes will go over a typical student’s head. There’s also the team’s nihilistic outlook, which is deftly woven into their playstyle- their communication skills draws heavily from Mr. Ettinger literature, for instance. The players understand this stuff; they have the intellectual capacity to truly appreciate the depths of these plays, to realise that they’re not just funny- they say something deep about SMASH. As a consequence people who dislike Bio-Med's Smash Team truly ARE idiots- of course they wouldn’t appreciate, for instance, the humour in their existential catchphrase "when he grabs you, mash” which itself is a cryptic reference to Terry Bogard. I’m smirking right now just imagining one of those addlepated simpletons scratching their heads in confusion as Ike’s genius wit unfolds itself in their Smash arena. What fools.. how I pity them.
